A tradition linked to Hijama
Three dates in the lunar month
Hijama holds a special place in Islamic tradition and is one of the practices mentioned in the prophetic accounts. Certain days of the Islamic calendar are therefore traditionally considered favorable for practicing it.
These dates appear in several traditions reported from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and are observed by many people wishing to practice Hijama in keeping with the Sunnah.

Days of the week
Are certain days also favored?
When the 17th, 19th or 21st day falls on one of these days, some accounts and scholarly opinions consider it even more recommended. These are traditional recommendations, not a condition for practicing Hijama.
Can Hijama be practiced outside the Sunnah days?
The Sunnah days are neither an obligation nor a condition for receiving a Hijama session.
A session can take place at other times of the month, especially when a person's needs call for it. The 17th, 19th and 21st day remain, above all, favored appointments for those who wish to follow this prophetic tradition.
Calendar
The dates change every month
The Sunnah days follow the Islamic calendar, based on the lunar cycles: they therefore do not fall on the same Gregorian dates from one month to the next.
The start of an Islamic month can also be determined differently depending on the calendar used or the observation of the lunar crescent. The dates should therefore be checked month by month.
Preparation
Before a session
It is traditionally recommended to practice Hijama while fasting. The actual preparation, however, depends on each person and their situation.
During wet Hijama, the skin is opened with small superficial incisions: the session must take place under strict hygiene conditions and with suitable equipment, in order to minimize the risk of infection as much as possible.
